Vintage: 2024
Region: Vittoria, Sicily
Grapes: Muscatedda, an autochthonous variety of Muscat
ABV: 11%
Agriculture: Kalma had been following a small parcel of old vines of Muscatedda in the Noto valley (southeast Sicily) and showed up on the 18th of July with with a trailer, cases and secateurs in hand to pick up the grapes that made this cuvée.
Vinification: Whole bunch maceration for 7 days, slightly pressed by foot, and further pressed into an old oak tonneau. No sulfur, no filtration. Only 700 bottles produced.
Notes: Aromatically bursting with muscat-ness with a decided acidity and hint of the tannin from the maceration. Notes of tangerine, orange blossoms and florals upfront - with underlying hints of green olives, olive leaves, umami, candied ginger and lemon. A touch of smokiness and white pepper. Lots of length.
Volume: 75cl
