Vintage: 2023
Region: Montilla, Córdoba, Andalucía
Grapes: Pedro Ximénez 100%
Production: Around 950 bottles produced.
ABV: 13.5%
Agriculture: Organic, vines 25+ years old, trained on trellis/pergola. Albariza soils.
Vinification: Fermented and aged in barrel, with flor for 16 months. No racking, no batonnage. Low SO₂.
Tasting notes: Crisp, precise, and mineral, and you feel it immediately: clean saline crunch, sharp freshness, and a very long, taut finish. The 16 months under flor builds real complexity without sacrificing that signature snap. The most structured wine in the range, with strong ageing potential.
Volume: 750ml
Blanquizal is the most structured and age-worthy wine in the range, with the sharp, crisp edge. The trellis-trained, pergola-grown vines at 25+ years old give thinner skins and a slightly lighter build than Benavente, but the extended flor ageing of 16 months builds real complexity and backbone. Brisk, mineral, and precise: think clean saline crunch and a very long finish.
